Coast to Coast
Well yesterday was one of the longest days ever. I was heading out to Virginia to see my brother’s new house and throw down for his birthday. The day began around 4:45 A.M. when I had to get to the airport to catch my 6:30 A.M. flight.
I left from Sacramento (SMF) to Chicago (MDW). The flight wasn’t bad since I had a little extra leg room in the emergency row. I think I slept a little but not too much, I can never sleep well on planes.
Then I had to get on another flight from Chicago (MDW) to Virginia (ORF).
That flight wasn’t bad at all and I was able to have a good conversation with the lady sitting next to me. We had a great conversation about life, politics, favorite vacation spots, and everything in between. I love to talk to strangers as long as they don’t seem uncomfortable. She was very open and we were able to share and make the flight go a lot faster.
Now that I was in Virginia, my brother was there as soon as I got through the security area. Now he didn’t know that we had prepared a surprise birthday party that his wife and I had been planning for the past month. He had no idea what was coming and everyone jumped out as soon as we got to the house. He was like, “Whaaaaat?!”
Then the food, and drinks, and cards started going. The party was great. The decorations, food, games, and people were all on point. I’m glad I could be a part of making my brother’s birthday and life happier. After many games of spades and drunken, slurred conversations, the day was over. I’ve been spending the rest of the day recovering and getting ready for the rest of the adventures we will be taking this week. I will keep you all posted and I can’t wait to show you all what we get into. Time with family is important and it’s always about the relationships you have with people. Time is the one thing you can never get more of. Don’t waste it on people that don’t deserve it. Cherish those moments and people. Time to get some much needed rest. Until tomorrow, sleep well world.
